The India-Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC), led by our President along with members of the Executive Committee, recently attended the JFCCT Prime Minister’s Address Luncheon 2026 held on Friday, June 12, 2026 , at the Crystal Hall Ballroom, The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok.
The event, hosted by the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) under the theme “Thailand 2026: A Vision for Competitiveness, Investment, and Future Ready” marked five decades of contribution by the foreign business community to Thailand’s economic development. Prior to the main luncheon, our President and ITCC representatives also joined an exclusive, informal briefing with the Prime Minister and fellow chamber leaders to exchange vital perspectives on the investment climate.
Government Vision: From Uncertainty to Confidence In his keynote address, Prime Minister H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul reaffirmed the government’s commitment to close collaboration with foreign investors through regulatory frameworks and structural reforms.
“While we cannot eliminate uncertainty from the world, we can create confidence in how we govern, how we reform, and how we partner with business. This commitment is also reflected in Thailand’s accession process to the OECD which reinforces our determination to strengthen governance, competitiveness and international standards” the Prime Minister stated.
The government highlighted key focus areas for the near future, including investment in high-value industries (such as advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, and AI), clean energy, digital transformation, and future skills. Furthermore, the administration emphasized the role of the “Thailand FastPass” system in reducing unnecessary barriers and accelerating major foreign direct investments.
JFCCT’s 50 Years of Partnership and Reform Agenda Mrs. Vibeke Lyssand Leirvåg, Chairwoman of JFCCT, reaffirmed JFCCT’s role as “The Voice of the Foreign Business Community in Thailand for 50 Years,” representing around 8,000 companies deeply rooted in the Thai economy.
At the event, JFCCT officially presented its policy booklet to the Prime Minister, focusing on six practical reform areas for Thailand’s next stage of growth: Competitiveness, Digital Government, Building the Future Workforce, Empowerment of SMEs, Holistic and Cohesive Sustainability, and Fast Track Regulatory Reform.
ITCC Outlook: Aligning with New Opportunities As a proud Gold Sponsor of this milestone event, ITCC remains dedicated to keeping our members well-informed of Thailand’s evolving economic strategies. The government’s focus on ease of doing business and future industries serves as a positive indicator for the business environment. Moving forward, we believe that deeper collaboration between the public and private sectors will be key to translating these reforms into practical opportunities for the Indian-Thai corporate community.
